Originally from Schenectady, NY and an alumni of UMASS Amherst (B.A.) and The University of Texas at Austin (MFA), Coverfly endorsed and Blacklist top list writer, M.D. Walton has enjoyed a career as an actor/writer/producer in TV, Film and Theater. On the writing front, Walton is a recent alum of Ron Howard and Brian Grazer’s prestigious Imagine Impact accelerator where he developed his TV one hour drama Identity alongside shaper/mentor Ben Watkins (Hand of God/Truth Be Told). Both Watkins and producer Kristen Campo (Truth be Told) are currently attached to develop and produce. Walton also wrote the feature film, MICHAEL, which has Golden Globe and Emmy winning producer/director Anthony Hemingway attached to direct and produce. Hemingway and Simon Mirren will produce under their AHP Films banner while Walton and producing partner Derrex Brady produce under their Skyscope Pictures shingle. MICHAEL stemmed from an award winning short film entitled The Championship Rounds, cre- ated, written and produced by Walton. The short starred acclaimed actors Harold Perrineau, Rutina Wesley, Larry Gilliard and Michael Anthony Spady. It garnered over 19 nominations and 15 awards on the festival circuit. In addition to selling his stories to Zedge Inc. for their SHORTZ app, Walton recently created and co-wrote a seven episode fictional series entitled FINDING PIERRE for Dennis Quaid & Jared Gutstadt's award winning podcast company Audio Up Media, a project loosely based on the life of NBA player/music producer JaVale McGee. Walton’s writing projects have placed as Finalists in various competitions. Additionally, Walton co-produced the short film, J.A.W. (Just Add Water) starring Jesse Williams and Glen Powell, directed by Nate Parker. For the stage he produced and starred in the West Coast intimate theater premiere of the Pulitzer Prize winning play Topdog/Underdog. The Los Angeles Times Times, Hollywood Reporter and Variety highly praised the production. The show was OVATION Award Recommended and Walton was nominated for L.A. Weekly Theater and Backstage Garland awards. On top of producing the award winning feature film Questions ,Walton and producing partner Derrex Brady have various projects in development under their Skyscope Pictures banner.

The Latest

Walton's feature film, MICHAEL, he's writing/producing alongside Anthony Hemingway was recently announced in Deadline. Walton's also Recently co-wrote a  7 episode series  called Finding Pierre for award winning podcast company Audio Up Media. Walton's one hour pilot script , The Anonymous Gracie Banks was a recent Finalist in the Big Apple Film Festival in NY.
